Solar Site Analysis and Energy Yield Estimation With PVSOL, PVSyst and Sam Software Application


Solar Photovoltaic technology is one of the most important recourses of renewable energy. Hence there is a need to develop software tools which is able to determine the potential energy output characteristics and operating performance of PV system. Photovoltaic system design softwares such as PVsyst, PVSOL, SAM facilitate preliminary calculations and design of solar photovoltaic Power Plants.

Passing marks – 60%

The final exam will have one essay type question and 16 objective type questions, these have to be uploaded in PDF, doc or docx formats only. Total questions are 17.

  • PVSOL Software Tutorial

PVSOL premium is the Dynamic simulation PV program with 3D visualization and detailed shading analysis of photovoltaic systems with storage systems. You will get to know how to use of the PVsol Software for grid-connected systems for flat roofs.

  •  System Advisory Model Tutorial (SAM):

SAM is a performance and financial model designed to help in decision making at project planning stage.
